FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. Is WyCo Panthers Youth Football & Cheer Association only open to Wyandotte County residents?
No, WyCo Panthers Youth Football & Cheer Association is open to the surrounding metropolitan area.
2. When does the season begin?
Official practice starts the first week of August and runs through about the third week of November.
3. What days do teams practice? When are games played?
Practice days and times are typically Monday, Wednesday and Fridays between 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. During the first week of August till school starts, practice typically run the same days, but between 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. due to heat. Games are typically played on Saturdays at a variety of locations, with some games being played at night under the lights.
4. What equipment does WyCo Panthers Youth Football and Cheer Association supply and what do I need to supply?
We provided the following:
Football Players – we provide (helmet, shoulder pads, practice jersey & pants, game jersey w/personal name & pants, socks and 1st mouth piece). All equipment along with practice jersey & pants and game pants are return back to organization after season. Players keep game jersey.
Cheerleaders – we provide complete cheerleader uniform (top, skirt, briefs, socks, shoes and pom poms). Parent will be required to purchase practice uniform from Head Cheer Coach/Coordinator.
5. What is the registration cost and what does it cover?
Registration cost is as follows:
Tackle Football - $300 per player; it covers league registration cost, insurance, game jersey and administration cost;
Flag Football - $200 per player; it covers league registration cost, insurance, game jersey and administration cost;
Cheerleader - $200 per cheerleader – it covers insurance and uniform cost.
6. What is the policy pretaining to refunds of player / cheerleaders fees?
The fees that are provided for each player and/or cheerleader are based on fix cost. Those fix cost are (league fees, insurance, uniforms and football/cheer expenses). Fee are not refundable after September 1 of that year. If a player and/or cheerleader must depart the organization prior to all fix cost expenses are paid, a formal request can be made to organization and on a case-by-case basis and decision would be made on the refund amount if one should be given.
7. What are the procedures for filing an Insurance Claim if needed?
Your player/cheerleader registration fees covers (league fees, insurance, uniforms and football expenses). Please keep in mind, league/organizational insurance is secondary insurance only.
